Police in Suffolk County are attempting to locate a pair of suspects who allegedly used a stolen credit card to spend more than $1,200 in items in Lake Grove.
Investigators said that a man and woman used a stolen credit card to make purchases at Bed Bath & Beyond at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. The pair later attempted to use the card at the Apple store in the Smith Haven Mall, but were declined.
According to police, the card had been stolen from a purse in a shopping cart at Stop & Shop in Centereach approximately an hour before the illegal purchases.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects, or who has information regarding the stolen credit cards has been asked to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-220-TIPS or texting “SCPD” with the message to 274637.
